Phoenix Public Health Ltd is engaged by the NHS to provide specialist bariatric surgery services to patients living in Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria.

Patients who wish to access service should have a BMI >35 if they have health problems (such as diabetes, high blood pressure or sleep apnoea) or a BMI >40 if they have no significant health issues.

Patients should contact their GP in the first instance as it is usually necessary to be referred to a local non-surgical weight management programme before NHS funding for bariatric surgery will be approved.
