Meet The Surgeon

What is the average weight loss I can expect after weight loss surgery?

This will depend upon the kind of operation you have had and also the weight you were before surgery. A gastric band patient will typically lose about ½ of the extra weight they were carrying and it would take about 2 years to achieve this. The gastric bypass patient will typically lose 75% of the extra weight they were carrying and the sleeve gastrectomy patient will lose around two thirds of their extra weight, mostly within the first year.
