Meet The Surgeon

When can I start exercising after weight loss surgery?

Regular exercising is a very important lifestyle change that can make the difference after weight loss surgery. Once you have lost weight, we recommend that you put your new energy levels to good use and try to stick to a regular exercise regime once you’ve been checked over at your first 6 week post-op visit. Gentle exercise during the first 6 weeks is fine. Band patients need to be a bit careful with chest exercises and should avoid lying/sleeping on their stomachs (it can increase the risk of the band port flipping over).
