Meet The Surgeon

How much pain is there after weight loss surgery and what kind of pain is it?

Weight loss surgery is not pain free. Although every patient is different, most feel some discomfort in the first 12 hours after surgery, but the pain is manageable with medications the nurses administer. Recovery time is incredibly fast, with most patients mobile and self-caring in less than 24 hours. On discharge from hospital 24- 48 hours after surgery, you will probably only need some simple painkillers such as paracetamol to take home with you.
