Shafiq Javed, MSc, FRCS, MBBS.
Current Position: Lead Bariatric Surgeon at Phoenix Health Bariatric Center in Liverpool
Shafiq studied and qualified at the Royal College of Surgeons, London in 1992 where he undertook most of his training before being appointed as an NHS consultant at Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral.
He and Professor Kerrigan have worked as a team since 2005 and Mr Javed is the lead bariatric surgeon at Phoenix’s Aintree bariatric centre in Liverpool.
Shafiq is an exceptionally skilled and experienced bariatric surgeon with a high caseload and excellent overall results.
He carries out the same range of basic and complex bariatric operations as Prof Kerrigan, including all aspects of revisional or ‘re-do’ surgery for band complications and failed gastric bypass.
