Plus size fashion advice – Spring into summer with a new holiday collection
Here’s some very handy plus size fashion advice! Hot off the cat walk and now onto store rails comes the arrival of the new Clements Ribeiro SS13 Holiday Collection from Evans. But what makes this new clothing range so different and worth sharing with you?
Well, for the first time ever, Evans are working with five of the leading UK and US plus-size bloggers to front their campaign. These larger than life, stylish and influential personalities have been photographed wearing the clothes as a way of showcasing the range. All show that differing shapes, sizes and ages are catered for and prove that plus-sized ladies have a voice in the world of fashion.
But what about the clothes?
Well this new Swan Collection focuses on holiday wear. They have developed a curve conscious range that is versatile, colourful and fun by mixing key in key holiday items (that can be worn from beach to bar) with some smart capsule items for everyday and work wear. Add to the mix some serious evening-wear and it’s a collection worth perusing.
From looking at the collection online I can see that it has a kitsch element that is particularly anchored on sporty day wear staples in graphic and playful prints. There is also a nod to Surrealism that has been inspired by the designer’s travels. The shapes are very casual and straightforward and the prints are full of wit (I adore and have ordered the dress with a lip print). Inacio Ribeiro says ‘The range is infused with the urban energy the bloggers inspired us with, but also prepares us for a week of fun in Rio’.
What I like about this new initiative is the desire by Evans to create a new inclusive community for the plus size shopper. The hope? Being to encourage further conversation around the on-going fashion shape debate.
